Dr. Allison Naito
Dr. Allison Naito was fascinated by nature as a child—she was constantly observing all the animal life she could find, from grasshoppers and toads to rabbits and birds. It didn’t take long for her to realize that a career in the world of veterinary care would suit her well. Now, Dr. Naito has been serving the area’s pet lovers as the owner and chief veterinarian of Huntington Pet Vet for over 30 years.
Born in Washington State, Dr. Naito grew up in Southern California before starting her studies at Orange Coast College. She transferred to the University of California-Riverside to major in entomology before being accepted into veterinary school at the University of California-Davis. Dr. Naito graduated in 1981, completed an internship at Auburn University, then moved back home and founded Huntington Pet Vet in 1985. She’s been serving the pet owners of the area alongside her talented staff ever since. Dr. Naito has one son, Justin, a college student who is interested in computers and video-game design. When she isn’t enjoying time with family, working in her garden, or caring for pets here at the clinic, Dr. Naito likes spending time with her own pets at home. She has three dogs named Chewy, Baby, and Dilly, a cat named Motoo, tortoises, and koi fish.
Dr. David Munson
Dr. David Munson has had a love for the medical field ever since he was young. After working on an Alaskan dairy farm for two years, he had a realization: he could combine his passion of practicing medicine with his affinity for animals by working in the veterinary care field.
Dr. Munson is originally from Alhambra, California. After working in Alaska, he attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota and remained in the state to start his career. Dr. Munson owned his own small-animal veterinary practice in Golden Valley for 20 years before moving back to California with his wife. He joined the Huntington Pet Vet family in early 2008, and has special interests in diagnostics and surgery. Dr. Munson also holds an Associate’s degree in mechanics. Dr. Munson and his wife have five children and share their home with a trio of cats, a beagle, and a French bulldog. In his time away from work, he enjoys painting, playing racquetball, and golfing.
